Lima

HI EVERYONE!!! I'm here. Finally. This is the first time this has really felt real to me. It smells like fish. It smells awesome. Thank you for all your prayers! On my way down, when I got to Houston, I met about four people on my flight who are also going with the IMB to Peru. Everything went smoothly. I was confident, I had friends, I didn't have to get searched, and I didn't get lost. We rode from the airport to a hostel, which is where I am now. They drive crazy! It was an adventure for sure. You guys are so great! Thank you for all your support. I've really felt it so far! More news to come when I can!

  1. Well, I think I've got this blog thing figured out now. I've already tried to post a comment about 5 times already... And they were really funny. Now, 2 hrs later and a tired Samantha, I'm all funnied out. :) However, I was wondering if their crazy driving was as crazy as mom's ( love you momma :) ) I'm glad you met some people and had someone to walk with you through the airport. Hope your bag wasn't too heavy :) And your sleeping bag was comfy. LOVE!!!

  2. First of all, Haha Samantha!! (and you stole everything I wanted to say)

Second, I'm also so glad you made it through the airports well and especially that you found friends to go through it with you!

And this is the first time it's felt real to me too.
Love you and praying : )

  3. I don't drive as crazy as my children!! Now I just want you to know that I haven't lost my self-control yet. But it has been hard. I knew God would give you guidance but it was too cool that he sent you friends that would remain with you for the rest of the trip.

  4. Hey Sweetie (this is Padre) Glad you made it safe and glad you had some company on the way down. When you were boarding in Houston, "He Reigns" came on the Stereo. It was a "God-thing" to me and I was thrilled!!! Thinking about you and praying for you constantly!!!!

  5. Im trying to be as serious as possible but your introduction to Peru is hilarious! I was expecting something spiritual and the first thing you say about Peru isnt anything about their beautiful landmarks or their food... its their smell! lol "It smells life fish. It smells awesome!" haha I love you Amy & im proud of you and ur in my prayers. Your an amazing women for choosing to obey God without knowing what your suppose to be doing. You remind me of Abraham. When God told Abraham to go he didnt tell him which way or any directions to begin. He simply said grab your stuff and GO to a land where i will show u. Thats exactly what you did, you obeyed. Well I hope all is well and im soooo happy your making friends! :D Te quiero mucho hermanita. Bendiciones!

  7. Let;s see, we need you to pray for Uncle Graham. He had an accident with a table saw yesterday. He had surgery this morning at 1:30 am on his right hand. No bones were touched, but his tendon and main nerve in his middle finger was severed. Also his ring finger is chewed up pretty bad....maybe skin graphs later. Only time will tell if the surgeon got it fixed right. And we all know who the healer is and we are asking HIM for a complete recovery and no infections!
